Keystone Avenue interchange

All ramps now open

Major construction is now complete on the I-465 Keystone Avenue interchange, with all interchange ramps and lanes on Keystone Avenue open to traffic. During the next several months, the contractor may temporarily restrict lanes to complete signage work, adjust traffic signals, remove the temporary barrier wall, complete seeding and planting, and finish final clean-up work. Most restrictions will occur during off-peak traffic periods. All work is expected to be complete by the end of June.

Recommendation Memo:

The interchange analysis and ensuing recommendation can be seen by clicking the links below:

In addition to reconstructing the interchange, the existing grass median on Keystone Avenue north of 96th Street will be paved and a concrete median barrier wall constructed to provide a left-turn lane. Two additional through lanes will also be added to Keystone Avenue:

  • One lane will be added to northbound Keystone, becoming a right-turn-only lane at 98th Street.
  • One lane will be added to southbound Keystone extending from 98th Street to I-465, with the lane becoming a shared through/right-turn lane in some locations.
