465/69 Northeast Traffic Pattern Changes to Take Effect Over Weekend
Night, weekend lane closures for lane striping, barrier installation
INDIANAPOLIS – Prior to the morning rush hour on Monday, March 8, the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) anticipates shifting traffic to the new pattern, which includes an eastbound “express lane” from U.S. 31/Meridian Street to Allisonville Road.
Before traffic can be shifted, contractors must first stripe narrow lanes and then install temporary concrete barriers at I-465 westbound bridges within the work zone. Painting pavement markings requires dry pavement conditions above 32 degrees, which have been fleeting within the past weeks. Motorists on I-465 should watch for night and weekend lane closures.
465/69 Northeast interstate widening and reconstruction between U.S. 31/Meridian Street and Allisonville Road is still on target to wrap up by the end of this year.
