Public open house - May 17

INDOT is hosting an open house on May 17 to provide more information on the reconstruction of the I-465/Allisonville Road interchange.

About the project

The goal of the 465/69 Northeast project is to improve safety and increase mobility on I-465 and I-69 in northeastern Marion County. The added travel lanes and interchange improvement project includes eight miles of I-465, from just east of the US 31 interchange to just north of Fall Creek Road, as well as more than two miles of I-69, crossing over 82nd Street and ending just south of the 96th Street interchange.

Each day, more than 150,000 vehicles travel in the area of I-465 and I-69. Once the entire project is complete, I-465 will have four through lanes in each direction, plus a continuous auxiliary lane for exiting and entering the interstate. I-69 will feature four lanes in each direction, plus three collector/distributor lanes from I-465 to the area just north of the 82nd Street interchange.

This project is part of Governor Mitch Daniels’ Major Moves road construction program.
